Dekka Neck Joint

While the bolt on neck has served guitar players well for generations, constructing instruments we noticed that it does have it's downsides.  Any deviation in the pocket opening can make for a sloppy pocket, and even if it is perfect there will be many detractors who say that the sustain is still not as great as the set neck guitar.  While we don't want to get involved in age old tone debates, we did want to make a change to make sure necks were uniformly secure to the body while still being easily disassembled for tech work.

Our solution was a unique dovetail system that allows the neck to slide into the bodies neck pocket.  This does multiple things, it increases the wood on wood contact between the body and neck, it provides a strong enough connection that the screws are now more of a fail safe than a necessity, and it allows for an extremely comfortable carve to be put underneath the heel.  Now when playing in the upper register, there is no clunky heel transition to get in the way.
