Why Choose a Dekka?
On January 1st, 1962 the Beatles auditioned for Decca Records in London, and were turned down. The Head of A&R thought that guitar music was on its way out, and despite making good acquisitions before and after that fateful day, Richard Paul Rowe will always be remembered as the man who turned the Beatles down.
Dekka knows electric guitars are here to stay, and want to make the best instruments possible for players who want something different. We are committed to producing unique designs that are as innovative as they are nostalgic. While we don't want to reinvent the wheel, we do want to push it forward. That is why we have integrated a unique neck joint into our designs that helps bridge the gap between set necks and conventional bolt on neck designs. We have also reconsidered the shape of the neck to accommodate the way electric guitarists play their guitars.
We know that there are enough guitars out there that you could buy a different make and model for a lifetime and probably not collect them all, but we do know that there are things that make certain guitars special: The feel of the neck, the weight, the resonance, the way it responds when you dig in and back off. These x factors that add up and make your other guitars collect dust. We know this feeling, and so we asked ourselves what if this guitar could have any set of pickups at any point without getting out the power tools? Say you have a studio session and you're gonna need tele twang for a solo, but want a growling P90 sound for the rhythm parts. Or say you're getting gear acquisition syndrome, but can't justify spending another $1000+ dollars on a guitar.
On the Dekka Guitars, the pickguards can be interchanged universally. Simply slacken or remove the strings, take the screws out, remove the pickguard, and put the new pickguard on. The options are limitless, but we have provided a few to start out. Consider this an insurance policy if you are the kind of experimental engineer who is always changing their guitar's electronics.
These are a few things that make us different. We aren't just beautifully rolled fingerboards and tidy fret ends, we want to change the way we design in form and function.
